Week 1: Fun with Snow

This week in the Red Room we will be focusing on showing students how to have fun with or in the snow. Since we live in an area that does not snow, you will have to get a little creative. We begin the week by reading the book, “The Story of Snow” by Mark Cassino Students will come away with a good understanding of how snow is created and begin to appreciate the amazingly beautiful and awe-inspiring, nature-made masterpieces: snowflakes.

Week 1 Sub Theme Objectives:

      1. Understand the “Story of Snow” as written by Mark Cassin
      2. Know things they can do to have fun with the snow.
      3. Be able to sing some songs about the snow!

Week 2: Storm Chasing

This week in the Red Room we will be introducing students to Jim Reed and storm chasing. Use the book, “Storm Chaser” by Jim Reed when explaining what a storm chaser does and the types of weather a storm chaser photographs.
