Roar! The week of dinosaurs was a hit! And it's not over yet. Today we will be working on making giant puffy dinosaurs! And your Littles will be able to write their own stories.

Jurassic ParkThe week began building habitats for dinosaurs. The kids enjoyed gluing bark to cardboard in order to make the tree bases and later added the treetops. Learning about how the dinosaurs took refuge as well as what they ate and the noises they made.

As the week progressed your Littles had an opportunity to learn about volcanoes! And man did they love it! There were eruptions heard and witnessed throughout the classroom all day. 🙂

We worked together as a team and re-created our very own volcano! While creating the volcano we used the opportunity to discuss the dinosaurs and their mannerisms.

There have been dinosaur puzzles and dinosaur skeletons built. The skeleton was made out of "dinosaur bones" with the alphabet labeled on each individual bone. We are very pleased with the byproduct.

We read a book about dinosaurs by the Bernstein Bears this week and the kids had an opportunity to draw their own pictures of dinosaurs. Their minds are so creative! Some of them branched out into monsters while others drew-in and illustrated bones from our earlier discussions.

Today we will write our own dinosaur stories. And we are going to make one of the puffiest dinosaurs your Little has ever made. 😉

We couldn't be more excited if we were your Little. This week went off without a hitch and the kids were happy! It's so much fun to watch the joy on their faces as they discover prehistoric creatures and try and replicate how they look, act and think.

*Invitation to play: By now your Little is an expert at resembling a dinosaur and I am sure that they would love an opportunity to share that with you!
